ITV EXPO

We opened the year with the ITV Expo, kindly hosted by our friends at ITV, bringing together industry experts for a full day of discussion on sustainability and innovation. Fireside chats explored conservation, carbon literacy and the value of practical climate action, while a panel on sustainable production addressed the complexities many teams face when trying to reduce emissions. The event set the tone for the year ahead, highlighting the growing appetite for cleaner, smarter energy solutions across the sector. Catch up on the panel recordings here >

BSC Expo

BSC Expo always proves a key event for the team, with a busy stand and a full line up of portable power solutions on show. The NXTGENbps Swift made its debut and immediately impressed with its lightweight design, rapid charging and flight safe build.

The Goat continued to prove why it is a trusted favourite for on set and off grid work and even powered our partner Notorious DIT’s stand throughout the show. The show demonstrated the breadth of flexible, sustainable power options we offer to production crews, event teams and many more.

MPTS

The Media Production Technology Show 2025 offered another opportunity to meet teams eager to move away from diesel and towards more flexible, sustainable power. We showcased our full range of zero emission batteries alongside BPS, with the Emperor drawing particular interest. Visitors explored its scalable design, multi-mode charging across mains, EV and solar, and the new telemetrics app that provides real time monitoring and control. Across the show, teams were looking for solutions that improve daily workflows while reducing environmental impact.

Shinfield Studios

The Shinfield Studios event was another key moment in the year, bringing production teams together to see how cleaner power solutions work in a modern studio environment. Across the day, conversations focused on the practical realities of reducing reliance on diesel, improving on set working conditions, and integrating battery power into existing workflows. With live demonstrations and real world discussion, the event highlighted how sustainable energy is already supporting quieter, more flexible production across film and TV, rather than being a future aspiration.

IBC

IBC sparked important conversations about the technologies shaping modern broadcast production. We worked alongside the team at SHAPE to highlight the Emperor – our most powerful battery unit. Sustainability and workflow efficiency were clear themes on an international scale, with battery power becoming central to how crews think about resilience and adaptability on location.

BBC Hull Tech Expo

It was then a quick turnaround for the team heading to the BBC Hull Tech Expo to demonstrate how silent, zero emission power is reshaping production environments. Lesley and Jono met with teams throughout the day to discuss how portable battery systems can reduce noise, improve working conditions and support more sustainable operations without compromising performance. The event showed how essential battery power is becoming in future ready broadcast workflows!

NXTGENbps | BPS Kit Expo @ Sky

The teams from NXTGENbps and BPS brought together professionals from across broadcast and production for a day focused on innovation, technology and sustainability, kindly hosted by our friends at Sky. Through a series of panel sessions, we explored the craft of sustainable production, emerging technology in broadcast, and recapped our top finds at IBC2025. It provided a valuable opportunity for manufacturers and crews to connect, and practical insight into more sustainable production solutions. Catch up on all the panel sessions here >

NXTGENbps Sustainability News

Lesley Marr, Director of Sustainability and Business Development at NXTGENbps, contributed to several industry discussions in 2025 across TVBEurope, NCS Industry Insights, and Definition Magazine. She explored how sustainability in media has moved from aspiration to action, with productions increasingly replacing diesel with battery-powered energy to reduce impact and improve on-set environments. Lesley also highlighted the need for better planning, more accurate energy forecasting, and a move away from outdated workflows, pointing to advances in battery technology and smarter energy management as key enablers for more sustainable production. Strengthening Our Operations

In 2025, NXTGENbps continued to grow, opening a new warehouse just outside Guildford with an on site demonstration studio to support increasing demand and give customers a practical space to see our battery solutions in action. We also expanded the team with the addition of a second driver and technical support specialist, Alistair Thompson, who brings 20 years of experience across TV and film, most recently as a special effects technician, along with a strong enthusiasm for helping drive more sustainable ways of working across the industry.

That’s a Wrap on 2025

Throughout the year, NXTGENbps batteries were put to work across a wide range of environments. From powering coffee and food trucks to supporting productions in busy city streets and remote rural locations, our systems proved their flexibility day to day. They were also used on conservation projects such as the Firestone Bridge, supplying reliable power for essential equipment, and at major sporting events, demonstrating how battery power can work reliably at scale.

Thank you to everyone who visited us at shows, joined our panels, used our products or partnered with us throughout the year. The momentum behind cleaner, quieter and more flexible power is growing, and we are proud to support productions and events that are ready to make the switch. As we look ahead to 2026, our focus remains the same: delivering practical, reliable battery solutions that help crews reduce emissions without adding complexity. If you are planning projects for the year ahead and would like guidance on the right system, our team is always here to help.
